Técnicas Reunidas maintains a clear and firm commitment to R&D&I, centered around its Technology Center, with a strategy based on consolidating existing technologies and developing new ones across various sectors.
More than 70 people work there, including graduates and PhDs from various disciplines: chemical, industrial, aeronautical, and agricultural engineers; chemists from various specialties; physicists; laboratory technicians; and administrative staff, with versatility being their defining characteristic.
This enables the firm to carry out research and development tasks at any level—from the laboratory to pilot testing and demonstration—as well as to perform basic or advanced engineering for the selected project.
In recent years, driven by growth in client projects and research and development initiatives, significant investments have been made to expand and modernize infrastructure and acquire state-of-the-art equipment, with the clear objective of supporting the Division’s growth and ensuring the timely and high-quality execution of the various projects.

Test facilities and laboratories for the development of new chemical processes, energy storage, and treatment of a wide variety of waste materials of different types, to provide solutions and contribute to the circular economy by supporting sustainability.
Pilot-scale and demonstration-scale module operations.
· Facilities dedicated to pilot-scale leaching, filtration, selective precipitation, solvent extraction, and electrolysis, with a flexible design that allows for different process configurations to be established in order to confirm the validity of our processes.
· A chemical analysis laboratory for characterizing all types of compounds—both organic and inorganic—specializing in the determination of trace, ultra-trace, major, and minor species in solids and solutions from a wide variety of matrices. With over 40 years of experience, the company boasts an extensive portfolio of analytical procedures and a rapid response to the requirements of each technology.
In-house workshops where we manufacture and customize our own equipment.
A machine shop for the manufacture of prototypes and special equipment, equipped with various machining and welding machines, a lathe, a milling machine, etc., for the production of prototypes or special equipment using a wide variety of materials, as well as for repairs and technical assistance for any operation involved in the processes carried out.
Tools for technology monitoring (PatSnap®), process simulation (Metsim® and Ecosim®), fluid dynamics and mixing simulation (Floworks® and VisiMix), and CAD (AutoCAD®)
