Técnicas Reunidas maintains a clear and firm commitment to R&D and innovation. Its Technology Centre is at the core this activity, with a strategy based on consolidating already existing developed technologies, as well as the development of new technologies in different sectors.
The Technology Centre has a staff of over 70 people, including engineering graduates and doctors PhD holders in various disciplines (chemical, industrial, aeronautical and agricultural fields, as well as chemists who are specialists in different areas, and physicists), laboratory technicians and administrative staff, making versatility as key trait of the Centre.
This allows research and development to be carried out at all levels, from laboratory work to pilot testing and demonstration activities, as well as basic or advanced engineering in any area.
In the last few years, due to the growth of client projects together with and research and development ones important investments have been made towards expanding and renovating infrastructures and acquiring state-of-the-art equipment, bearing in mind the clear goal of accommodating the Division's growth and guaranteeing quality and on-schedule implementation of different projects.
Hydrometallurgical and electrochemical test areas and laboratories, energy storage, biorefinery and waste and water treatment.
Areas with pilot plants for leaching, filtration, selective precipitation, solvent extraction and electrolysis processes, with a flexible design that allows for different process configurations, and the objective of confirming the validity of our processes. 
Chemical testing and analysis laboratories for the characterisation of both organic and inorganic compounds, specialising in the determination of trace and ultratrace elements, as well as major and minor species in solids and solutions. 
Mechanical workshop for the manufacture of prototypes and special equipment.
Computer resources for technology watch (PatSnap®), process simulation (Metsim® and Ecosim®), fluid dynamics and agitation simulation (Floworks® and VisiMix) and CAD (Autocad®)
